The New Year

2009 will be good. I'm Engaged to a wonderful woman, busy with recording and touring, blessed with some great friends and family- things are looking good.

It's funny to know exactly what I'll be doing, basically into March. Recording all this next week, then Fiction Family for 3 weeks, then finishing up Joseph Tata's project. And hopefully by then... even more things. I feel like I'm at the cusp of something great- but it's not time to relax yet- in fact, now's the time to work harder then ever before.

Jeez- I'll be 27. And just around the corner--- 10 year class anniversary! Never thought the day would come...

Sunday Morning Coming Down

I know it's 11:52, but it still feels like it's 7am. Maybe I'm nocturnal, like Noah.

I think 2009 is going tone a very good year. Just have a good feeling about it.

Best musician website I've ever seen.

www.drumninja.com

Funniest thing I've seen in a while. Stick with it- it gets good. Funny intentionally and unintentionally.

Casino Morongo

Casinos are a strange thing. So are cover bands. I can't decide if I like doing this or not. At least I get a pile of Cold Hard Cash at the end of the night, to cuddle up to while I contemplate whether it was worth my time or not.

And it's always a fun time to walk over to the high-roller Blackjack table. $250 minimum! Who are these people!!?

Recording with Zoro

Zoro, Daniel 'D-G' and I are recording a record. If I remember my camera, I'll take some pictures and put them up here. It's going good- and hopefully we'll be able to get it done before Christmas. Back at it Monday.

Red Light Fever?

A few days ago, I did an L.A. based morning radio show called Morning Becomes Eclectic
Click Here to listen to me playing bass with Nikka

Nikka's new album, Pebble to a Pearl, is great. I think you should check it out HERE!

KCRW is located at Santa Monica college, in the basement of the cafeteria. I know, that sounds lowly right? Public radio! Anyway, we set up in what seemed to be an old, wood floored/panneled studio- and they had some great gear too. Aaron set his drums up in the corner, in a little room built of baffles- see?------

Everybody set up in a circle- trombone and trumpet even!- and when the red 'on air' light came on, we were on! A new kind of Red Light Fever. The nerves went away pretty fast, since the music is so damn fun. I wish it had lasted a bit longer- there's just something about the pressure of live performance that really sets it off when everyone is hitting it.

Blog #1

I had one of these a long time ago. I wonder what happened to it- drifted of into digital nothingness, I suppose. I bet only Christine will read this- but I'll try not to make it too mushy in case Casey or Mallorie read it occasionally too.
